Angels Park Memorial at Meyers Lake, Evansdale Iowa began as a community project honoring and inspired by the deaths of two young girls Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook Morissey, who were tragically found dead after their abduction in 2012. This case still remains unsolved. The entire Park is now dedicated as a memorial to remember many loved ones that families have lost too soon.
The park was created as a place for one to come to heal after the loss of a loved one whether to gather in a group, family or individual. It's a place to walk, to work, to talk to "Your Angels".
It truly is a memorial dedicated to helping families heal. It is beautiful and peaceful. The Cedar Valley has rallied together to build this park. Donations, events, organizations, thousands of working hands have put forth an amazing effort to comfort anyone that has lost a loved one.
This Park is a healing place. Dedicated to the many loved ones and lives gone too soon. Evelyn Miller, Donisha Hill, Lindsey Nichols are among the ones who also lost their lives by the hands of others. The Park honors many loved ones that families have lost.
An annual child safety awareness activity day is held at the Park. Other ideas are in the works for teaching children how to be safe.
The Park Welcomes Everyone!
Made especially in the memory of Lyric and Elizabeth by our good friend Bill Dedic. Thank you!!
